Visual Communication is a multi dimensional field encompassing a wide range of disciplines from graphics to film production. Specific Ideas are conveyed through Art. It is growing increasingly important as we are today in a fast, image reliant society.
Established in the year 2005, the vibrant department has gained a unique identity in the academy arena. The department trains the students to realize their potential and sharpen their visualization skills to face the challenges of the Media industry. The primary thrust of the course is to train aspiring students in various aspects of drawing, Graphic Design, Computer Graphics, Photography, Television Production, Film Making, Web Designing, 3D modelling and Animation. So that they make a mark in any of these industries.
The labs are well equipped and have an array of latest photography and video production equipments. The Multimedia labs are constantly updated with the latest software relevant to the media industry. The mode of delivery is through Theory Subjects, the Guest Lectures, Exhibitions, Workshops and Seminars organized by the department throughout the year expand the horizons of knowledge for students and they provide a conductive atmosphere for industry-academia interface. Internships enable students to a personalized view of the ever changing media industry, providing a platform for the students to understand how the industry operates.
Intra and Inter collegiate activities are always a platform for the students to interact and enrich. The Annual Show on Photography, Painting,Stone Art,Glass painting,Pebble art and Digital Painting (EXPOSURE), SADHARANIKARAN AWARDS, etc enable students to showcase their creative talents and co-curricular learning. Noted personalities from the Media have interacted with the students, motivated and inspired them. The Annual Film Festival held every year facilitates screening of global cinema in the campus of the College and has had leading Cinematographers, Editors and Veterans from the field interact and inspire the students.
To establish a knowledge center that provides innovative, hands-on training in Visual Media, focusing on alternative perspectives and the aesthetic presentation of realities through international media strategies.
