ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Department of Biotechnology has been started in the year 2006 with the strength of 10 students. Gradually the student’s strength has been increased. Now the strength of the department grows as 150 students.Every year department is organizing Department fest/ symposiums/ Intra collegiate events for the exposure of students in various academic and extra-curricular activities.

Resource persons from various disciplines of biotechnology were called and students were given knowledge about current trends apart from the curriculum. The student’s results were also gradually increasing. The department is producing many University ranks every year.

Our students got placed in various top companies and many of our students are pursuing higher education in Universities and reputed colleges. Students are motivated to participate actively in the events and competitions conducted by various other city colleges.

To explore new dimensions in biotechnology aimed at generating prosperity and promoting social equity, with a particular focus on enhancing the well- being of underprivileged communities.

  • To promote technology and commercialization, driving economic growth and enhancing the quality of life.
PROGRAMME OUTCOMES
PO1Students understand the major concepts in Biology and understand the fundamental principles.
PO2Students will develop scientific outlook not only with respect to life science, but in all aspects related to life.
PO3Students are trained to apply and adapt appropriate techniques, resources, and instrumentation which will help them to pursue higher education or jobs after the programme.
PO4Students develop the ability to effectively communicate scientific information with strong ethics in written and oral formats.
PO5Students will understand their roles and responsibilities especially the protection of the people.
PO6Students become eligible to pursue higher education in their respective fields and engage in lifelong learning and enduring proficient progress.
