Department of Commerce started during the Year 1994 & PG was commenced from the year 2011. At Present we have four sections Totaling 690 Students and 17 Faculties with rich Experience. Our Main Motto is to give Qualitative Teaching to the Students imbibed with Discipline. The department provides new avenues and path for the growth of Business education and Managerial Skills. The faculty members always recognize the necessity of the individual development of students through innovative teaching methods, group discussions and Industrial Visits. Commerce students have Secured 22 University ranks in Tamil, English and French. It is always Practice of the students to score Centum in Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Income Tax and Financial Management.

Every Year the Department of Commerce organizes Intercollegiate meet “JOSEPHS SYNERGY 2019”. On 13th Feb.2019, a Colourful and Memorable “ JOSEPH SYNERGY 2K19” was organized by PG Department of Commerce. For this mega inter-collegiate competition, totally 13 colleges (104 students) from in and around Chennai City took part. Our Department students, totally 650 students were presented on that day. The Grand inaugural show commenced by the arrival of the Chief Guest “JIT GOEL”, CEO of XCEL Corp. We have honoured our department outstanding students with merit certificates and also honoured the students who had 100% attendance during the academic year 2018-2019.
Our department has organized FDP programme on “Tax Planning and Investment”, chaired by Mr. Sundaraman CA which was conducted on 07th feburary 2019.
