The Department of Commerce is committed to provide top-notch Commerce Education Courses (B.Com.) to students, instilling in them the principles of banking, finance, and business, to meet the ever-changing demands of the business world and produce professionals in various sector.

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES
PSO1	Placement: To prepare the students who will demonstrate respectful engagement with others’ ideas, behaviours, and beliefs and apply diverse frames of reference to decisions and actions.
PSO2	Entrepreneur: To create effective entrepreneurs by enhancing their critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and leadership skill that will facilitate start-ups and high potential organizations
PSO3	Research and Development: Design and implement HR systems and practices grounded in research that comply with employment laws, leading the organization towards growth and development.

Every Year the Department of Commerce organizes Intercollegiate meet  “JOSEPHS SYNERGY 2019”.  On 13^th Feb.2019, a Colourful and Memorable “ JOSEPH SYNERGY 2K19” was organized by PG Department of Commerce.  For this mega inter-collegiate competition, totally 13 colleges (104 students) from in and around Chennai City took part.  Our Department students, totally 650 students were presented on that day.  The Grand inaugural show commenced by the arrival of the Chief Guest “JIT GOEL”, CEO of XCEL Corp.  We have honoured our department outstanding students with merit certificates and also honoured the students who had 100% attendance during the academic year 2018-2019.

Our department has organized FDP programme on “Tax Planning and Investment”, chaired by Mr. Sundaraman CA which was conducted on 07^th feburary 2019.

• 32 Students of Commerce Department, Accounting & Finance participated in “INTERFEST” competition held on 25^th December 2018 in Guru Nanak & Loyola College
• 29 students from Commerce Department participated in the Inter college competition held on Dec 14^th in the Loyola College & Mr. A.Manikandan of final year B.Com Won I prize in the event named “SHIPWRECK”
• S. Divya secured University rank in the year 2018
• Monisha & Nivedhini of B.Com ‘B’ section won Rs.600 cash prize in the Adzap Competition conducted by Asan memorial college
• Kiruthiga of I B.Com ‘B’ Section won Rs.300 cash prize in LOGO designing competition conducted by Asan memorial college

• On 12^th February 2019, Mrs. E. Evangeline, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce presented her paper on “WORKLIFE BALANCE OF WOMAN FACULTY” in Engineering college, with special reference to Kanchipuram district, at Nehru memorial college, Trichy
