ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Social Work was established in the year 2005. The Social Work Programme is very unique as the students are exposed to Experiential Learning giving them edge over other programs. Social work continues to be one of the fastest growing contemporary professions today.

The Masters in Social Work (MSW) is a benchmark program for Social Work Education, as it prepares students for a career in Social Work with special reference to Human Resource Management through interactive and participative process of Training, Workshops, Field Work and Project Work. The program is designed to equip the students to meet the advancing Industry standards.

The curriculum has three important components-theory, fieldwork and research. It enables the students to acquire necessary knowledge of sociology, psychology, philosophy and methods of social work, and practical experience in scientific social research. To facilitate the above complex learning process, the training programme also includes independent study, lectures, seminars, research and concurrent and block fieldwork training.

SPIN Forum

SPIN replicates the meaning of ‘Social work practice through integrated network’ it’s a spark for the department of social work which does the tremendous social work activities by facilitating professional and ethical values by adapting the social work principle in doing the social activities for the welfare of the human community.

    • Department of Social work conducted Inter Collegiate Awareness Program on ORGAN DONATION & TRANSPLANTAION in Collaboration with Mohan Foundations on 23rd 2018.
    • Department of Social work conducted Free Medical Camp in Collaboration with Saveetha Medical College on 11th 2018.
    • Department of Social Work conducted One Day Training Programme On “Human Rights” Funded By National Human Rights Commission ( NHRC), New Delhi on 05th 2019.
